Building upon the momentum of the previous year, our team spent 2023 digging into a diverse range of South East Queensland and New South Wales civil works. From a far-afield rural subdivision in Dorrigo, to a large-scale quarry upgrade in Wolffdene, they were some of our most unique and ambitious to date.
Here’s just a selection of these projects, as well as our community and company highlights from the past twelve months.
2023 Project Highlights:
166 Bumstead Road
Thanks to the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) of our civil construction experts, the client was able to lodge for titles just two months into this 45-lot subdivision.
Works included bulk earthworks, retaining wall construction, roadworks, concrete works, bio basin construction, stormwater upgrades, and sewer and water works. It also involved an upgrade to Bumstead Road, including road widening under live traffic management.
Wolffdene Quarry Access Upgrade, Luscombe
We continued this large-scale quarry upgrade, which is our largest design and construction project thus far, with 500,000m3 of earthworks, 2kms of roadworks, 4ha of hardstand, and construction of two large purpose-built culvert crossings. A new signalised intersection upgrade at Stanmore Road was also completed in record time.
284 Loganview Rd North, Logan Reserve
Adjoining verdant bushland, this 31-lot residential development was designed to be a peaceful environment for active, growing families.
Our team helped prepare it with earthworks (landscaping and bulk), concrete works, and utility construction, along with stormwater, sewer and water works.
44-48 Storey Road (corner of Manuka Rd), Logan Village
OM Civil delivered 26 residential lots on this promising Logan growth corridor project via construction of all earthworks (landscaping and bulk), pavement works, electrical works, utility works, and pipe works (stormwater, water, and sewer).
327 Loganview Road North
This 81-lot subdivision was constructed in 16 weeks, and spanned bulk earthworks, pipe works (sewer, water and stormwater), retaining walls, road works and concrete works (e.g. footpaths).
Gold Coast Airport
Completed in only three days, these minor works at Gold Coast International Airport involved external stormwater upgrades and internal joint sealing and pavement reinstatement.
Dorrigo Subdivision
After obtaining all relevant RMS and Bellingen Shire Council approvals, our satellite team performed the roadworks and earthworks needed to parcel this rural development into 20 residential lots. Particular care was given to minimise the ecological impact of these works.
Robina Lakes
This comprised a two-part stormwater upgrade. Part A included structural repairs and upgrades to existing stormwater, for which we mobilised a dive crew for under-pressure injection repairs and sealing. Part B included constructing a 180m2 concrete slab for future maintenance vehicle access. Works were completed swiftly and handed over to Gold Coast City Council defect-free.
New Staff and Plant
The following recruits saw the OM Civil workforce grow to over 50 in 2023. We also acquired 3 excavators, 1 backhoe and GPS upgrades across our fleet of more than 30 plant.

Community
Movember
The OM Civil team has supported Movember for a number of years now. With programs aimed at improving both the mental and physical health outcomes of men right around Australia, it’s an organisation very close to our hearts. We’re proud to say that we were able to raise $1,360 for this worthy cause in 2023 – $1,000 more than last year.
Mudgeeraba Redbacks
Aside from civil upgrades, one of our favourite interests is footy. So we thought: ‘what better way to give back to the community that has embraced us so warmly than by sponsoring the local rugby league club?’.
In 2023 OM Civil became an official sponsor of the Mudgeeraba Redbacks. This fast-growing club has produced the likes of Darius Boyd, so don’t be surprised if you see one of these talented players in maroon one day.
Burleigh Heads Surf Life Saving Club
We’re lucky to live and work on one of the most amazing coastlines Australia has to offer, so it was only natural that we support those who keep our beaches safe. This year we became an official sponsor of the Burleigh Heads Surf Life Saving Club’s Nippers program.
Since founding on the Gold Coast 10 years ago, we’ve been enriching South-East Queensland through class-leading civil construction services. It’s why we’re the trusted civil contractor for projects of strategic significance to Queensland under $25 million, as well as those that inherently meet the criteria for a Local Industry Participation Plan (LIPP).
