No Project Too Big or Too Small

Our dedicated team and fleet of modern plant allow us to tackle jobs of any size, scale or complexity.

We’re the trusted civil contractor for projects of strategic significance to Queensland under $25 million, as well as those that inherently meet the criteria for a Local Industry Participation Plan (LIPP). Here are just some of our recent highlights.

Project Highlights under $5 Million:

Sickle Park Upgrade

Hope Island

This infrastructure project involved upgrades to existing fitness equipment, new play facilities including a “dinosaur dig”, new council bbq and shelters, footpath construction, earthworks, parking upgrades and planting.

Regional Road Upgrade

Beaudesert

Following the completion of a previous upgrade, OM Civil were awarded a second roadworks contract for Beaudesert Boonah Road.

Works included clearing, earthworks, stormwater and foam bitumen stabilisation of existing and new pavements.

Bus Depot Upgrade

Molendinar

This bus depot upgrade for public transport operator Kinetic included demolition, traffic management, pavement construction, and reconstruction of parking hardstand to facilitate greater depot access.

Rural Residential Subdivision

Bonogin

With consideration of the area’s steep terrain and sensitive ecology, it was clear that a deft approach to engineering and civil construction was needed on this 37 lot rural residential development in the picturesque Gold Coast hinterland.

Our team partnered closely with developers Design Build Instruct to implement earthworks, steep grade roadworks, drainage works, water reticulation, and electrical and landscaping on-time, on-budget, and with minimal impact to the surrounding environment.

THE PINES SHOPPING CENTRE REDEVELOPMENT

Elanora

Our team were tasked with relocating an internal shopping centre bus stop to a new external location along KP McGrath Drive. This also meant re-constructing and refurbishing the carpark facility adjacent to the new bus stop.

OM Civil developed its own in house Traffic Guidance Scheme to complete these complex works under high volume pedestrian movements and traffic conditions.

Gold Coast Airport Upgrade

Bilinga

Completed in only three days, this minor project at Gold Coast International Airport involved external stormwater upgrades, internal joint sealing and pavement reinstatement.

Project Highlights over $5 MILLION:

Metropolitan Residential Development

Logan Reserve

Cradled amongst leafy surrounds, the new 81-lot subdivision on Loganview Road North is a haven for families.

OM Civil recently finalised its bulk earthworks, sewer works, stormwater works, retaining wall construction, road works, and concrete works.

Regional Resource-Based Quarry Upgrade

Luscombe

As one of OM Civil’s larger endeavours, our team was excited to break ground on this upgrade to Hanson’s Wolffdene Quarry in Luscombe.

After engineering the design we have now begun 500,000m3 of earthworks, 2km of road works, 4ha of hardstand construction, installation of two large purpose-built culvert crossings, and a new signalised intersection upgrade at Stanmore Road.

Multi-Stage Airport Upgrade

Archerfield

After three successful projects at the site, including airside infrastructure modernisation and industrial upgrades, OM Civil undertook their fourth contract with Archerfield Airport Corporation to upgrade a 1250m taxiway.

This, along with the civil works necessary for a new logistics estate, was completed among a steady stream of live air traffic.

ALLAMBE GARDENS MEMORIAL PARK UPGRADE

Nerang

This extensive bulk earthworks project involved import of 50,000m3 of high strength fill, excavation, and preloading of the fill using approximately 50,000m3 of clay excavated from the adjacent low-lying wetlands.

Our rehabilitation of these wetlands earned the Allambe Gardens Memorial Park Upgrade a nomination at the 2020 CCF Earth Awards.

OUR COLLABORATIVE APPROACH

As well as working hand-in-hand with clients, OM Civil adopts a collaborative approach with the subcontractors local to our projects. We believe this is vital to ensuring the greatest outcome possible for all stakeholders.

The regional roadworks shown below, for example, were delivered with utmost efficiency thanks to close partnership with local suppliers and contractors.
